Early Morning Shooting

Early this morning, a 30 year old Shelton female was shot and is in critical condition. She has been transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was the victim of an early morning shooting which occurred off Jenson Road, 4 miles north of Shelton. She is in critical condition with life threatening injuries.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office reported that 2 male suspects came to the door, the female answered the door and was shot. Another individual was in the residence, a male, who had barricaded himself in the residence until the suspects left.

Sheriff’s Deputies immediately responded to the scene of the shooting.  When they arrived they learned that two male suspects had apparently fled on foot.  The deputies immediately established a perimeter and started a ground search.  The search for the suspects was suspended at about 6:00 AM.  No descriptions are yet available on the two male suspects.  They are believed to be armed and dangerous.

Investigators say the victim is known to the Sheriff’s Office and do not believe the shooting was a random act.

At the time immediately following the shooting, the area weather was very inclement preventing the victim from being airlifted.  She was transported to St. Peters Hospital in Olympia by medics.  At the time of this release the victim was listed as critical. The Sheriff’s Office received the call at 3:38 am, Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
