Puget Sound Energy is awarding the cities of Olympia and Lacey $30,000 for helping sign up more than 500 people for its green-power program in 2011. The money, $20,000 for Olympia and $10,000 for Lacey, can be used for solar-power
projects in the two cities. The green-power program is voluntary. Residential customers can buy 100 percent green power for about $10 to $12 per month based on their actual use or buy a specific amount for $4 per month or more. More than 90 Thurston County businesses use the program.
