When WDFW Commission meets next Friday and Saturday in Olympia, they be considering a number of measures that hunters and fisherman may like. Drew Dawson has the story. There are 18 sport fishing rules up for
consideration before the commission, all developed with public input at the Commission’s December and January Meetings. Among them are proposals allowing anglers to fish with two poles on some rivers, and closing steelhead fisheries earlier on others.
For hunters, the commission is set to consider increasing the number of multiple season permits issued each year, as well as more than doubling the number of deer permits, and increasing the number of elk permits by nearly 50 percent.
A complete list of the proposed changes is posted on the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website.
