Shelton's Downtown Business Community is hard at work getting everything ready for this year’s “First Friday” celebration and Christmas town USA Parade. Amy Cooper, Event Coordinator from the Shelton Downtown Merchants

described the purpose of First  Friday, this way, “The goal of the event is Free Family Fun and all around festive weekend in downtown Shelton.  We look forward to highlighting all of our downtown local business”. 
Game cards for prizes provided by local businesses can be picked up at all participating downtown Shelton businesses. 
Kristmas Town Kiwanis will also be presenting the annual Christmas Tree lighting on Friday evening at six in the Post Office Park.  Following will be Kiddie Train Rides, Marshmallow Roasting, Music, Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides, and an appearance from out of town guests, Mr. and Mrs. Claus from the far North. 
Festivities will continue on Saturday  with more game card play and at four o’clock in the afternoon, the Mistletoe Mile run before the Christmas Town Parade at five o’clock on Railroad Avenue.  “Kristmas Town Kiwanas just wants to create a fun-filled free family event in Downtown Shelton”, said Patty Tupper of the Kristmas Town Kiwanas.  For more information, visit sheltondowntownmerchants.com.
