A Southworth man died in a two-car collision on Highway 160 early Saturday morning. The State Patrol reports that 52-year-old Harold L. Keith died at the scene of the crash near the intersection with Long Lake Road about 1:50 AM. Keith was driving a 1990 Geo Prism eastbound on SR160 when the car was rear-ended by an eastbound 2003 Infinity that was traveling at a high rate of speed. The collision forced the Geo off the road. It rolled over and came to rest down a 20-foot embankment. The Infinity struck the guardrail twice and continued eastbound, striking a sign and stopping on Pepermill Road. The driver of the Infinity, Peter M. Sedrak, 23 of Port Orchard, suffered a head injury but refused aid. One of the two passengers in Sedrak’s car was injured and taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. Sedrak was arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail as alcohol and speed were contributing factors to the crash that blocked the roadway for nearly six and a half hours. Sedrak faces charges of Vehicular Homicide. As troopers were investigating the collision, a hand grenade was located near the vehicles. The bomb squad responded and determined the grenade to be an inert WWII era pineapple grenade. No other explosive devices were found at the scene.
