SCHOOL AND OTHER CLOSURE/DELAY REPORTS

POLICE INVESTIGATING RUMOR OF SHOOTING
The Shelton Police Department is investigating a rumor that some one plans to shoot up the Shelton High School today. Over the weekend, some students reportedly received text messages about the shooting. Police have checked with the student who allegedly sent the text message. That student told investigators no threat was made and the rumor is untrue. However, as a precaution, there will be an increased police presence at and around the school today. But again, there is no threat and this is just a rumor. (Updated 6:55am 4/21)

Note: School delays and closures are usually reported the morning of a weather event. This page will be updated once that information is released. Also, weather conditions can change. You should check back with this page for updates or tune in 1030 KMAS.

SNOW REPORTS/WEATHER ALERTS

SNOW IN THE FORECAST FOR SOME, RAIN FOR THE REST
There is snow in the forecast for some areas with rain expected for the rest. The National Weather Service says snow is possible this morning in Matlock, Union, Lilliwaup, Olympia, Lacy, Tumwater and Yelm but less than a half an inch is anticipated. Rain is forecast elsewhere, although a mix of rain and snow is possible before sunrise. But again little or no accumulation is expected as high temperatures will be around 50. (Updated 5:55am 4/21)
