FIRST CANDIDATES' FORUM HELD TUESDAY NIGHT: Wednesday's focus, Mason County Superior Court Judge candidates
The first Primary Election Candidates' forum was held Tuesday night at the Shelton Civic Center. The seven candidates for 35th District State Representative, the six candidates for Mason County Commissioner, and the five candidates for Mason County Superior Court Judge faced off before a crowd of over 130 interested voters. The candidates for State Representative answered questions about funding education and whether they would support off shore drilling if oil was discovered off the Washington Coast. The County Commissioner candidates debated school impact fees and the Washington Renaissance Faire. And the Judge candidates talked about court facilities, security and improving the process of the courts. Today we are focusing on the candidates for Mason County Superior Court Judge. The following are the candidates seeking Judge James Sawyers’ Position One seat.

Thursday, we will hear from the candidates for Mason County Commissioner and Friday our focus will be on the candidates for 35th District State Representative. Another candidates' forum is scheduled for 6 PM July 29th at the LakeLand Village Clubhouse in Allyn. Ballots for the August 19th Primary Election will be mailed to voters at the end of this month.
